Val Skinner (born October 16, 1960) is an American professional golfer who played on the LPGA Tour. Skinner was born in Hamilton, Montana. She was the 1974 Nebraska Junior Girls champion and the 1976 Nebraska High School State champion and won both these titles in 1978. She was also the 1980 Nebraska Match Play champion.

Jun 3, 2021 · After losing her dear friend and a rising golf star, Heather Farr, at age 28 to breast cancer, Val Skinner, a member of the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA), embarked on a mission to increase breast cancer awareness among young women.

The mission of the Val Skinner Foundation is to support organizations focused on breast cancer research, treatment and education. Our mission is to arm a younger generation of women and their families with information about cancer risk, early detection, and the importance of healthy breast care practices.

Congratulations to the Val Skinner Foundation on the 20th anniversary of the LIFE Event, a charity golf outing that has raised more than $5M to support Rutgers Cancer Institute’s LIFE Center devoted to the needs of women with breast cancer, as well as precision medicine.

Val Skinner was an LPGA Tour golfer whose biggest successes happened during a three-year stretch in the 1980s and another three-year stretch in the 1990s. After her playing days ended, she had a career as a broadcaster.
