Robert and Lydia Paine furnished the earlier, west end of their house with traditional family heirlooms and objects purchased shortly after their marriage in 1864. Servant chambers contain furniture twice handed down.
Restoration Projects — Stonehurst, the Robert Treat Paine Estate
In this landscape restoration project for the 6-acre Olmsted-designed historic core of the estate, the south and west fields were cleared and reestablished, vistas were restored, trees were pruned, the Master Landscape Plan was updated, and a Tree Inventory and Management Plan and a maintenance plan were produced.

Get off the 554 bus at the stop on the corner of Beaver and Forest Streets (just before the Bentley College stop). Walk west on Beaver Street a short distance to Robert Treat Paine Drive. Follow the drive uphill to the estate.
