Nov 9, 2024 · Leah Best joined the UTRGV volleyball team as an assistant coach on May 1, 2019. Best came to UTRGV after serving as the head coach of the San Gabriel Elite Volleyball Club in Glendale, Calif. She also has coaching experience at Harvard-Westlake School in Los Angeles and with the A5 Volleyball Club in Atlanta.

Her 103 block assists her junior season tied for the fourth highest in program history. Personal: Best was born in London and has a younger sister, Anouska. In high school in Georgia she earned two letters in basketball and four in volleyball. Her senior season the volleyball team was the state runner-up and had a 45-5 record. l.
