The Utah Hockey Club signed forward Alexander Kerfoot and defenseman Ian Cole to a one-year, $3 million contract extensions Wednesday. Kerfoot has seven goals and nine assists in 61 games this season.

The forward and defenseman signed one-year contract extensions — with a reported $3 million average annual value each — on Wednesday, Utah Hockey Club announced. Both were pending unrestricted free agents but Utah decided to keep the two veteran, depth players around.

The Minnesota Wild are back in town for the fourth and final matchup of the regular season between the two clubs. Utah has earned points in all three games against the Wild, falling 5-4 in a shootout at home on Dec. 10, winning 2-1 in St. Paul on Dec. 20, and shutting out Minnesota 4-0 at Xcel Energy Center on Jan. 23.
