Does anyone know how Query Analyzer calculates the cost for the various values it gives, particuarly stuff like "Estimated I/O Cost" when you are looking at an Estimated Execution Plan?
Display Estimated Execution Plan on the query dropdown menu; or use the SET SHOWPLAN_TEXT ON command before running a query and capturing the execution plan event in a SQL Server Profiler trace.
