Jun 19, 2013 · Nearly two weeks ago I had a pretty nasty crash on my bike during a road race and had some road rash and a very large hematoma on my hip from hitting the pavement. Well the road rash is almost gone, but the liquid jiggling around on my hip is still there. It is going down slowly, but 80% of it is still there 2 weeks later…Is this normal? Dec 29, 2008 · Sometimes they'll require two or three aspirations over a period of a few weeks. Small ones may reabsorb spontaneously. Larger ones that have a lot of blood are better treated with aspiration. Blood contains calcium which hardens and leaves a lump after the fluid resorbs. I have even aspirated my own hip hematoma after a crash.

Feb 25, 2011 · If you do a total hip on a patient a 50, it is unlikely to last them the rest of their life. Re-doing a total hip after the first one wears out is MUCH harder than doing a total hip on somebody who has been resurfaced. This is because the total hip involves cutting out bone, and obviously once you start cutting out bone, you can’t replace it.
