Oct 5, 2024 · I'm fortunate enough to live in an area without tolls but my understanding from doing a little research is Illinois is migrating to stickers from transponders. Supposedly they are valid anywhere E-ZPass is accepted so wouldn't be surprised if other E-ZPass states follow along with that change before too long.

Oct 16, 2017 · Maybe ISHTA does things differently, but the PTC's E-ZPass online account management system allows you to enter start and end dates and times for each vehicle on the account, and those refer to the time that the vehicle passes through the toll plaza and a photo is taken, not when the transaction hits the system.

I believe it's possible, because I've seen people with negative E-ZPass balances, but mine charges me $195 whenever I drop below $50 😨 - that lasts me like 3 months! I did sign up for NY E-ZPass on the "pay per trip" plan, but I'm thinking I might miss the Turnpike discounts. Thank you!

I've had E-ZPass and its predecessors, SmarTag and Fastoll, since it was introduced here in 1996. Anytime they've failed to add funds to my account, I got prompt, written notice about it, resolved it immediately and the toll operators got paid with no additional fees, fines or fuss.
