The V operated weekdays only from approximately 6:30 a.m. to midnight between 71st Avenue in Forest Hills, Queens and Second Avenue, near the border of the East Village and the Lower East Side, Manhattan.

V was introduced in December 2001 for weekday local service on the IND Queens Boulevard Line and IND Sixth Avenue Line via 53rd Street, after the F train was shifted to the newly opened IND 63rd Street Line.

The V train operates weekdays, from 71st–Continental Avenue–Forest Hills to Lower East Side–Second Avenue, running local in both Queens and Manhattan on an entirely underground route. It did not operate late nights and weekends and all of the stations on its route are served full-time by at least one other service.

The MTA realized how horrifically trash the F & M train reroutes have been, so they’re bringing back the V to save us all until 2024. Only operates on the QBL tho.
