St Saviour's is a Gothic Revival church in the Decorated Gothic style, built in local stone with Cotswold stone roofs. [1] . The plan has a nave with side aisles and a chancel from which projects a north vestry. The main entrance is through a south porch into the nave.

The Parish Church of St Mary the Virgin is located on the A433 in southwest Tetbury. Tetbury in the Cotswolds is easily reached from nearby Stroud, Bristol, Cirencester and Gloucester. Other historic buildings in the town are the Church House and Market House.

Believed to have been the location of Abbess Tetta’s Monastery and some scholars suggest this is the origin of the name Tetbury. The current church is relatively new in church terms, built as recently as 1781 making it the only Georgian church in the county.

The seating plan of the church is most unusual. The nave is provided with box pews, typical of the period, but only a portion of these are accessible from the central walkway along the nave.
