There is a "charge mode" which is when the car is parked. If the car is in drive you’ll notice the door won’t open and if the door is open and the car is put into drive it’ll automatically close. Charge port door opened when I pressed button on connector. Fast forward to yesterday, tried opening with mobile app, touchscreen. It opened and closed right away. Pressing on door has no effect. Searched and tried touchscreen reset, power off Tesla, pulling the loop behind charge port in trunk. No effect.

Jul 5, 2016 · Charge Port Door Sensor Issue (FIXED!) Just wanted to share how mine got fixed as there seems to be an increasing number of people experiencing this issue.

When we press the button on the tesla charge lead (we have a tesla wall charger) the charge port door opens then immediately closes! Anyone else experience this and any easy fix or do we have to get it in for service?

Feb 8, 2022 · The charge port opens if someone taps the charge port while it is unlocked, or while the phone that unlocks the car is nearby. If the car was locked, then it shouldn't be opening the charge port.

When it doesn't work, charge port door makes couple clicking noises (like it has received a command) but it refuses to open. I tried both from charging cable and the app but the result is the same.
