Jan 14, 2013 · People do stuff like for testing but long term cards getting nudged can damage slots, it will get really dusty, you get no flow like inside of a case with intake and outtake fans. A cheap case can be had for $20, it's not a deal breaker.

Feb 14, 2012 · Don't take offense, but I never understood this. People buying high end components and either buying a POS case and PSU or no case at all. I don't know what the motivation is. Is it a cost thing? Put the $300 for a good case and PSU towards the CPU or video instead? If it dies in a few months, hardly seems like a good tradeoff.

The kind of PC case that I have is a budget one called "X11 Advanded X Station" that I got maybe 8 years ago. The boot drive and the DVD-Rom drive were built into the case when I purchased it.

The gpu i was talking about how the slot is different to PCs now cos they just lift up where as this you pry out. the outside, side view you can see vents and thats it. if you wanted to open the case thumb screws are used so no need for screwdriver unless its really tight.

May 9, 2018 · Cases have intakes. Everywhere, including the pci slots in the rear. A case is generally full of holes. If a case with a single exhaust is running @90° on the cpu, the addition of a single intake can drop that to @80° easily. 2x exhausts only drop it @2°C further, but 2x intakes with 2x exhausts will see the cpu @70°.
