Jan 14, 2013 · People do stuff like for testing but long term cards getting nudged can damage slots, it will get really dusty, you get no flow like inside of a case with intake and outtake fans. A cheap case can be had for $20, it's not a deal breaker.

Feb 14, 2012 · Don't take offense, but I never understood this. People buying high end components and either buying a POS case and PSU or no case at all. I don't know what the motivation is. Is it a cost thing? Put the $300 for a good case and PSU towards the CPU or video instead? If it dies in a few months, hardly seems like a good tradeoff.

Mar 4, 2014 · I'm working on a "pc in a desk" project (my first build) I'm quite confident in putting a pc together in a case, as I've fiddled with my current pc a fair amount. However I'm unsure of how to wire things such as a power button, or front audio ports (though I won't need the audio ports with the way I've designed the desk).

Jan 18, 2019 · My PC case doesn't seem to have those kinds of "click-in bays" and I'm not even sure how my current boot drive is placed in my case. The kind of PC case that I have is a budget one called "X11 Advanded X Station" that I got maybe 8 years ago. The boot drive and the DVD-Rom drive were built into the case when I purchased it.

The gpu i was talking about how the slot is different to PCs now cos they just lift up where as this you pry out. the outside, side view you can see vents and thats it. if you wanted to open the case thumb screws are used so no need for screwdriver unless its really tight.

May 27, 2017 · it all about how much cleaning do you want to do and how much noise can you take. yes open up your case you will have better air flow and you will get better temp. but dust in the long run will make your temp go up so unless you want to clean it monthly with air duster i would keep the case close. note tho even with the case close you should clean it with an air duster once a year anyways. the ...

Apr 1, 2020 · The people who built your custom PC should have given you the brackets. Then again, perhaps the brackets are a feature of an up-market model of that case. My CoolerMaster mATX case included rubber buttons you attach to SSD's that slip into slots in the case to mount SSD's; there were no instructions I had to figure that out on my own.

May 9, 2018 · Cases have intakes. Everywhere, including the pci slots in the rear. A case is generally full of holes. If a case with a single exhaust is running @90° on the cpu, the addition of a single intake can drop that to @80° easily. 2x exhausts only drop it @2°C further, but 2x intakes with 2x exhausts will see the cpu @70°.
