Sakuta is always devoted to her too but there was a moment where he was ready to let go of everything and do it all over again for Shouko. So does he still have any feelings towards her or was it something like she's a friend and he did it because she saved him before.

Sakuta uses Shokos adolescents syndrome to go back in time (like Tomoe did) to save Mai-san from dying, with the risk of Shoko dying. Shoko somehow found a way to survive while still making sure Mai-san and Sakuta stay alive.

Oct 5, 2020 · I finally watched the series the other day( well, the first 9 episodes+ most of the finale) but, one thing that really bothered me, apart from Futaba, was the relationship between Sakuta and Mai. I rewatched the first episode twice and I still can't figure out how they got together. Ignoring the pacing, it makes no sense to me.

I know why she was disappearing but when everyone else couldn't see her he was the only one. It couldn't be that he loves her at first because he only saw her as Mai the entertainer not Mai herself. I wonder if it has to do with the fact he can read the room. In essence, he can sense when people are in pain.

Nov 18, 2019 · Mai-san never went back in time. Because of Shoko explaining everything in the presence of Mai she got to know what will happen and decided to go to that place and save sakuta. Mai met Sakuta simply because he was the only one able to see her in the library. No time travel anywhere with Mai. She never traveled.
