Which Island Packet? - SailNet Community
Aug 18, 2004 · The Island Packet is well designed for your needs. Large amounts of tankage and stowage are great aspects of these yachts. I suggest going with the 380 because of the advantages of more modern technology. All in all I disagree with many peoples opinions of Island Packets. This yacht is meant to be sailed all over the world.
Island Packet 31 strengths and issues | Sailboat Owners Forums
Sep 13, 2019 · I know Island Packet has a reputation for being "sea kindly" and solidly built but there are other things to consider. Smaller boats are more affected by the environment than larger boats, both in water line length and displacement. This is with regard to wind, waves and even rain. Bigger boats generally have more room to stay out of the weather.

Feb 26, 2016 · Please note that Traditional Watercraft Inc is the name of the company that does business as Island Packet Yachts. That is not new - it is the name Bob Johnson chose for the company when he released the first Island Packet to the market. Here is the news I have from extremely reliable sources. The eviction notice was indeed on the door for 24 ...
Are Island Packets as bad as some claim? - SailNet Community
Jul 10, 2000 · But when we charter in the Caribbean, we have become enamored of the Island Packets, like the IP460 (third thumbnail) with its 260 gallon water tank, which we topped off at Spanish Town before heading out to JVD. Two heads and daily showers are nice, especially with the kids and grandkids aboard for a week. Comfortable is fine on vacation!

Mar 29, 2017 · I'm probably begging for a flame war, but I'm interested to hear opinions. I've heard a lot of good about Island Packets. And looking them over, they seem like excellent boats. The bad I've heard is twofold: 1) Chainplates are such …
Island Packet - Bluewater Capable??? - SailNet Community
May 20, 2007 · We returned from 2 years in the Caribbean aboard our IP380 (38 foot IP). The Island Packet line was designed as a comfortable offshore cruiser. It carried us from Florida to Trinidad and back and lived up to this reputation. It is a well designed and built vessel, capable of taking you anywhere you desire. Steve Aspen IP380-122 www ...
So are you really happy with your Island Packet?
Apr 5, 2009 · I have a Morgan Out Island and I often sailed with a friend who has a similar size Island Packet. We have similar performance, design, space, and action in a sea. We both love our boats for what they do for us as cruising "trucks". Some of the "featherdusters" easily pass us in light winds. Racers think our boats or "dogs".
