Jan 9, 2014 · I type 'filename:*.pdf' and I get all my PDF files. When I type 'filename:*pdf keywords:insurance' I get nothing all at :(Is it because the keyword is in file properties field for the PDF file. When I search for 'keywords:insurance' it finds my original .docx file but not the .pdf file.

This looks just like the problem that existed in previous versions of Windows. Attempts at using new Adobe iFilters / jFilters or by running registry hacks were claimed by some to have fixed things but others reported no change.
