Oct 17, 2024 · Moving to Work (MTW) is a demonstration program for public housing authorities (PHAs) that provides them the opportunity to design and test innovative, locally designed strategies that use Federal dollars more efficiently, help residents find employment and become self-sufficient, and increase housing choices for low-income families.

The MTW Demonstration was established to give Public Housing Authorities (PHAs) and HUD flexibility to design and test various approaches for providing and administering housing assistance that: Reduces cost and achieve greater cost effectiveness in federal expenditures;

HUD will evaluate and learn from these MTW expansion agencies to identify successful MTW innovations to improve the future delivery of federally assisted low-income and affordable housing. Selection Requirements Required by Statute

Nov 3, 2022 · Throughout participation in the Moving to Work (MTW) Demonstration program, all MTW agencies must continue to meet five statutory requirements established under the Omnibus Consolidated Rescissions and Appropriations Act of 1996 (Public Law 104-134, 110 Stat 1321).
