Jun 5, 2007 · Im restoring one of these (hmx 500) at the moment for a mate of mine. Sentimental reasons. It was the first BMX I ever rode (not owned). At the moment I have it completey stripped down. Its getting painted the original yellow. I have new rims ordered for it. Im not putting the original chrome rims on it though (not sure if correct decision).

Below are early 80s Healing BMX catalogue pages (thanks Tama!), featuring the Healing Redline MkIII, Healing SuperMax 2, HMX-500, HMX-600, Mini-Max and Hi-Max. The inclusion of the SuperMax ‘2’ (the SuperMax ‘1’ had a single gusset and dates between 1978-80) makes me guess this catalogue is probably from around 1981.

The HMX-500 only came in yellow , but was later followed by the HMX-600 (Red or Blue) which came with Tuff's.
