Jul 27, 2021 · The sound bar is looking only for the audio signal from the HDMI cable. Don't use the pass through, just connect your TV source directly to the TV via HDMI and then connect the 3.5mm audio output to the converter and the converter to the soundbar via HDMI.

Dec 13, 2019 · There will be no quality difference using HDMI-ARC or the optical output. You may lose an HDMI input if you use ARC. Check your TV audio menu to make sure it can be set to output in PCM stereo. Most optical to analog converters won't handle 5.1 bitstream output. Given your application I doubt spending a lot will make a difference.

Jan 6, 2019 · When the PC is turned off, or the HDMI cable is disconnected the red led goes away and the unit is totally dead. It seems the red led only comes on if the HT is connected to the PC via HDMI, even if the HT is disconnected from the mains. And it will only connect via Bluetooth if the HDMI is connected.

Dec 28, 2022 · I happened to have a 3.5mm to RCA adapter -- I connected the 3.5mm male input into the TV and the RCA male outputs to the "aux" audio ports on the Bose player. On the menu configuration side, I first turned on the Bose and set it to "aux". This alone will cause the audio to be output through the Bose, but the TV speakers will still be on.
