Jun 30, 2021 · Belbe as commander can backfire if your goal is to take advantage of it and you need the commander for the deck to work. I’m speaking from experience playing against Belbe with a [[Dina]] deck. Belbe came out early, I started pinging with Dina and managed to completely take over, so the Belbe player had to let it die and never recast it.

I am not saying that „modern day“ magic artworks are just bad of course, but they feel more and more „generic fantasy pictures“. This interpretation of Belbe for instance reminds me of some spaceship crew villain instead of an old-style phyrexian (see for reference the artwork of Belbe and Ertai made by mark zug).
