The A18 is a major road in the UK, linking Doncaster to Laceby, a total distance of 153 miles. It was constructed in 1937 as part of a comprehensive road network linking the East Coast of England to the Midlands. The busiest times on the A18 tend to be around peak commuter hours.

The A18 begins at the Balby Interchange, where it leaves and then flies over the A630 just outside Doncaster City Centre. It begins as a primary 40 mph D2 and heads in a generally easterly direction before arriving at the first of a number of roundabouts.

Hidden away inside J1 of the M180, the A18(M) was a short-lived motorway which got traffic from the M18 and sent it eastwards, on to the A18. Obviously the largely single carriageway A18 wasn't going to cope for much longer, so a new motorway was built to the south, the M180, which effectively grabbed the A18(M) and made it longer.
