Nov 16, 2020 · Tome of beasts is very good, definitely worth having for a DM, but I think it's a good second monster book after the Monster Manual. If you only buy one, I'd suggest getting the Monster Manual.

Nov 17, 2021 · MME1 expands the monster manual, 2 covers Volos and MtoF, and 3 introduces new ideas, but a lot of them are from previous editions and haven't been officially published books.

May 3, 2021 · Tome of Beasts is made by kobold press and can be found on their website here https://koboldpress.com/kpstore/product/tome-of-beasts-for-5th-edition/. Both books also have sequels and there is a third Monster Manual Expanded coming out sometime this year.

The Monster Manual below is my limited edition Hydra74 copy, but it is just the same as the regular one content-wise. Books like Kobold-Press’ Tome of Beasts II remain of better quality as a hard-cover but are chonkier.
