Jan 7, 2019 · Z-Wave vs ZigBee for C4 is more or less a non-issue. C4 isn't going to drop their own stack, whether or not they move or add to ZigBee 3 or not. There's a LOT of security measures in there that are a valuable addition actually, eliminating any and all concerns that have popped up with the safety of zigbee and zwave before they even popped up.

Jun 6, 2020 · We have the Yale Zigbee locks with physical buttons, and they have all been very reliable and durable. I think the Yale locks with the touchscreens (not the physical buttons) are a little more prone to failure. One other non-C4 related tip -- most of these Zigbee/Z-wave locks have pretty crappy (i.e., easily picked) physical locking mechanisms.

Feb 9, 2020 · We will this end up with 4 Zigbee servers (2 per floor) with between 20 and 50 devices in each. 1 EA1 remains a ZAP - linked to the HC800 Zigbee network. The other EA1 is no longer a ZAP on the primary Zigbee server but rather a third standalone Zigbee Server which has 21 nodes. This is where I am noticing the massive performance improvement!

Jan 19, 2025 · I'm guessing the real question is if you can use any zigbee pro dimmer/switch with Control4. The answer is no, just Control4 ones (noting there are 3rd party lighting systems that integrate with C4, but not via zigbee pro, and that there are a handful of c4 specific 3rd party zigbee devices that integrate as well, but again, they are C4 specific.)

Stick an ea1 behind a tv doing OSD and running a zigbee server with something like a motion sensor controlling multiple lights in an area, will be slower than a core 3 doing the same thing.

Sep 3, 2019 · I know I could just go with a WiFi outlet and be done with this, but would love to tie it in natively with the rest of my Zigbee mesh without having to purchase a separate driver. Was wondering if anyone had any ideas. I cannot go the Z-Wave route either. I don't have an EAx controller to use to host the Z-Wave antenna. Thanks for the help!
