Going through Internet Options and disabling Active Scripting turns of JavaScript for IE11, but does not have an effect on Microsoft Edge. Mar 20, 2017 · The answers to your linked question are incorrect and out-dated. Current Windows 10 builds don't allow you to turn off JavaScript in Edge via Group Policies. So I assume it is also not possible in the home edition via a registry change. Microsoft changed the Group Policies for Edge in the last year, they may change again in the future.

Sep 23, 2023 · The problem occurs on most pages. Not every single page but the majority of pages. I checked and made sure javascript and cookies are all on. I just started using Edge Beta and that all works fine and doesn't have javascript or cookies disabled at the top. I probably need to repair Edge or delete it and reinstall it.

The problem is that it's still happening. I was in my gmail today and highlighted something, and I got "Rewrite with Copilot" without even left-clicking. It just showed up.
