Nov 16, 2011 · The E90 has got all that and then some in this department. Infotainment, M3 wins. At the end of the day, I caught myself picking the E39 M5 over the E90 M3 most of the time when choosing the keys. In closing, BMW really knocked it out of the park with the E39 M5, and not so much with the E90 M3.

May 1, 2012 · The E39 M5 is an awesome hooligan car, has interior quality still unsurpassed by current top of the line Cadillac, and has torque where you want it. The E60 M5 is like E90 M3 X 10 when it comes to lack of torque. If you can't stand the M3, do NOT get the E60 M5.

Sep 29, 2004 · The E46 M3 has roughly the same 0-60 time as the E39 M5. The E90 M3 will obviously improve upon this with rumored 400hp V-8, which is a 20% boost over the current E46. This is not quite as much as the 25% boost the E60 M5 gets over the E39, but it sounds like it will be close. I expect a 4.5 sec 0-60. Tom

Mar 19, 2012 · We turned in our E90 M3 to get the 2008 E60 M5 and have really enjoyed the upgrade. The power difference is remarkable. The only thing I can't seem to get behind is the Style 166 wheels. I loved the Style 220's on the M3 with the gunmetal inner rim and machined face. From what I researched, it looks like both wheels are the same 72.5 centerbore.

Feb 12, 2012 · F10 M5. More up to date (E90/92 M3 has been in production nearly 4 years). More powerful, more comfortable, more practical, new HUD, better equipped and way more options. Yes, it's turbocharged, but one must accept the benefits it provides and that it is the way of the future unfortunately in some cases (like this one).

Mar 21, 2008 · 2. The M3 is definitely more tossable and nimble than the M5. Although the M3's advantage in this area is noticeable, the M5 is close.(I continue to be amazed by how nimble the M5 is, especially for a big car). 3. The M5 is definitely faster as the RPM's increase. Again, noticeable but the M3 is quite close. 4. The V-8 in the M3 sounds great!

Jan 12, 2007 · One of my local BMW sales managers is convinced that the new E90 M3 has the same V10 as the M5. But in terms of marketing I do not think that would be a wise decision by BMW. But if the S85 engine is in there there is no doubt that it would be faster than the E60 M5 in real world application, regardless of what BMW advertises.

Mar 19, 2011 · My vote goes to E90 M3 only because it has DCT. E60 M5 with DCT would have been such a perfect car. You can go from E46 M3 to either car and be happy. You can also go from E9x M3 to M5 and be happy (give up a bit of handling but more power and comfort). But it is going to be difficult giving up the V10 and move into M3, at least for me and I ...
