Nov 9, 2010 · Re: Pilot-rc 47% Decathlon Build After I mounted the motor, I drill a ¾ hole threw the fire wall for my throttle linkage and using the wood servo bracket provided. I then mounted my servo in the bracket, positioned it in the motor box lined up with my throttle linkage, predrilled some mounting holes thru the bracket and bottom of the motor box.

Dec 21, 2024 · Recently I purchased a Phoenix Super Decathlon ARF at an estate sale. It appeared to be BNIB and as I unpacked it and checked everything....I found it to be new indeed, but the landing gear is not there. This is a two part gear. The kit is the 66 inch span version.

YAK54 does not need to build wing structure, paint Landing gear , paint spinner, no windows, no door, not so many CF wing tube, etc. YAK54 fuselage is smaller than Decathon. but we still sell it at lower price because it use 50cc engine.

I've looked on a thread dealing with the constuction of the 33% decathlon by Hostetler plans, and I think the building technique can be transfered to this plane with a bit of "backyard" engineering. I went to Lowes and saw some cool tools that would be vital in my future builds.

I'm planning on setting it up (over the Winter) with a 3W106, smoke, HiTec 7955 servos, Smart-Fly Power System Eq6 and Duralite 4300mAh Li-Mn batteries. If anyone has the 40% Pilot Decathlon or is planning to assemble one, please let me know. I'm sure I can use some help and I'm happy to share my ideas.

Many structural reinforcements, canister homebuilt, interchangeable compartments for release paratrooper, and compartment doors with servo release for various things.

I wasn't planning on doing a full build thread but I did take some pictures as I went along. A few specs: 89" wing span with 1237 sq. in of area 69" fuse length advertised weight of 16-18 pounds.
