Casey DeSantis has the best favorability rating of Republicans speculated in a 2026 run for Florida governor, according to a UNF poll released Tuesday morning.

Florida first lady Casey DeSantis is favored to succeed her husband, Gov. Ron DeSantis, as governor of the Sunshine State, according to a newly-released poll.

The poll was released just hours after Trump took to Truth Social to boost the potential candidacy of Byron Donalds. The Republican Congressman from Southwest Florida does respectably well in the survey, with 3 in 10 Trump voters approving of the Congressman and just 2% disapproving. But that puts Donalds far from DeSantis’ +53.

Of respondents who are registered Republicans, 57% said they had a favorable opinion of Casey DeSantis. Will she run for Florida governor?

The first lady had a 30% favorability rating among respondents. Most of the other potential candidates suffered from a lack of recognition. Former Rep. Matt Gaetz had a 39% unfavorable rating.

While Ron DeSantis can't run for governor again in 2026, some voters might want to see another DeSantis on the ballot. But one notable Florida voter, President Donald Trump, seems to have another candidate in mind.
