Tottenham captain Son Heung-min is in the final year of his contract and Spurs have decided to trigger an option to extend his time in north London for another season

Tottenham Hotspur captain Son Heung-min looks set to remain at the club beyond the end of this season thanks to an extension option in his contract, a new report has confirmed. Son signed his current deal with Spurs in 2021, a four-year contract until the summer of 2025, with no mention of a 12-month option divulged at the time.

But a future Tottenham Hotspur without Son Heung-Min is coming, and this would give Spurs a little extra time to figure out what’s best for both the player and the club. At minimum we know (or we think we know) that we’ll have at least one more year with Sonny, so we can bank and treasure those memories while we can.

Tottenham are reportedly preparing to activate a one-year extension clause in the contract of their star player, Son Heung-min. The 32-year-old South Korean, who is in the final year of his current deal, previously stated in September that he hadn't yet discussed his future with the club.
