ETnews (Korean) reports that the fabrication of Apple’s M5 chip has been in the packaging stage since January, a crucial step toward mass production.

Apple has reportedly started mass production of its next-gen M5 processor: will power new MacBook Pros, iPad Pros, and new Vision Pro successor.

The Wednesday morning report said Apple’s chipmaking partner TSMC is currently packaging the first M5 chips off the production line. Since packaging the new chip is the final step before actually using the chip in devices, the M5 chip is effectively in mass production.
