Election officials in Kentucky are pushing back on unfounded allegations of widespread voter fraud after a video depicting an apparent technical glitch on a ballot-marking device amassed tens of millions of views on social media.

This was an isolated incident caused by user error. Laurel County Clerk Tony Brown said officials were able to re-create the incident when pressing the areas in between boxes with candidate’s names. Voters are supposed to press the middle of the box to make their selection.
