Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison is suing farm equipment maker John Deere, accusing the company of forcing farmers to use its dealers to repair equipment.

The North Star State joined the Federal Trade Commission and the state of Illinois in suing ag equipment maker John Deere.

Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison sued agricultural manufacturer John Deere Wednesday, alleging it has used unfair practices to drive up equipment repair costs for farmers. AG Ellison, Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul and the Federal Trade Commission filed the lawsuit,

The lawsuit argues the manufacturer's use of "unfair practices has driven up equipment repair costs for farmers" and deprived farmers the ability to make timely repairs on critical farming critical.
