Kirby Smart 's Bulldogs entered the game on a 42-game regular season winning streak. Having captured two of the last three national championships, Georgia was considered a narrow favorite entering the game against first-year Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer and the undefeated Crimson Tide.

Georgia's defense had not allowed a touchdown in its last four games. Then came Alabama and Jalen Milroe which grabbed a big lead until UGA fought back

Kalen DeBoer and his team had one heck of a game, finishing the first half with a whopping 21-point lead. All thanks to the explosive performance by Jalen Milroe and his final game-changing throw to Ryan Williams.
