The Women’s Super League returned after the international break yesterday and there was no shortage of drama as Chelsea were held for only the second time this season with a topsy-turvy 2-2 draw against Brighton & Hove Albion.

Liverpool have parted ways with women’s manager Matt Beard after almost four years in charge, with just four wins in 14 games in the Women’s Super League. Beard returned to the role of Liverpool FC Women manager in May 2021, having previously spent three years at the club between 2012 and 2015.

Beard returned for a second spell with the Reds in 2021, having led them to two WSL titles during his first stint at the helm between 2012 and 2015
