Firefighters are working to contain a pair of brush fires that broke out along the I-15 Freeway in northern San Diego County early Tuesday morning. The first, called the Pala Fire, was reported at around 12:30 a.

Several residents in a San Diego area community are being evacuated as firefighters work to battle a wind-driven brush fire that is threatening homes.

San Diego County sheriff’s officials said evacuation orders were issued for areas near where the fire broke out. An evacuation map shows the zones: https://emergencymap.sandiegocounty.gov/index.html. An evacuation point was established at Castle Creek Country Club (8797 Circle R Drive) in Escondido.

Evacuation orders have been issued for a second vegetation fire in Bonsall area of San Diego County. The Lilac Fire has grown to 30 acres with a slow rate of spread and is 0% contained. The fire was reported around 1:20 a.m. near Old Highway 395 and Lilac Road, according to the San Diego County Fire Department.

As wildfires continued to burn in Los Angeles, several new fires broke out in San Diego County, prompting evacuation orders and warnings.

The Poway Fire Department is responding to a brush fire that ignited near homes in the area of Ted Williams Parkway and Pomerado Road.

Cal Fire, the Poway Fire Department and San Diego Fire-Rescue converged on the blaze, which had reached 3 acres in size and threatened nearby structures before forward progress was reported to have been stopped around 3 p.
