The Celtics still have work to do with their roster after sitting out the trade deadline on Thursday in the wake of dealing Jaden Springer to the Houston Rockets. That trade provided some cost savings in the interim for Boston’s luxury tax bill but it also opened up a second roster spot on the team’s 15-man roster.

A day after trading Jaden Springer, the Celtics again meet the requirement of having 14 players on standard contracts, signing a player at their primary position of need.

Throughout the season, it's been clear the Celtics are short on wing depth. They lost Oshae Brissett and Svi Mykhailiuk during the summer. Sam Hauser's issues with lower back spams have showcased the Celtics need to add another wing before the postseason arrives.
