Left-handed pitcher Blake Snell, a two-time Cy Young Award recipient, opted out of his contract with the San Francisco Giants on Friday to become a free agent, according to Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic.

After one season with the Giants, two-time Cy Young winner Blake Snell is headed back to free agency in search of the long-term deal that eluded him last winter. Snell, as expected, on Friday declined his $38.

This isn’t much of a surprise, but Blake Snell is becoming a free agent again. The lefty starter and two-time Cy Young winner is opting out of his contract and entering free agency following a season with the San Francisco Giants, according to The Athletic.
