Ethiopian duo Milkesa Mengesha and Tigist Ketema won the men's and women's races respectively in the 50th running of the Berlin Marathon on Sunday.

The 50th Berlin marathon saw a series of Ethiopian athletes clinch medals, including Milkesa Mengesha who won the men's race with a time of just over 2 hours 3 minutes. Fellow Ethiopian Tigist Ketema won the women's race.

Milkesa Mengesha crossed the finish line in 2:03:17 after 42.129km, beating Kenya's Cybrian Kotut and Ethiopia's Haymaonot Alew, while Tigist Ketema won the women's race in 2:16:41 at Berlin Marathon on Sunday.
