The top Democrat on the Senate Commerce Committee said she is asking U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy to bar President Donald Trump's adviser Elon Musk from involvement in efforts to reform air traffic control.

Trump said during an event that “a lot of mistakes happened” on Jan. 29 when an American Airlines flight out of Wichita, Kansas, collided with an Army helicopter as the plane was about to land at Ronald Reagan National Airport near Washington, killing all 67 people on board the two aircraft.

The ranking member of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation is calling on newly appointed Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy to ensure Elon Musk stays out of Federal Aviation Administration operations.
