Arrays in Python give you a huge amount of flexibility for storing, organizing, and accessing data. This is crucial, not least because of Python’s popularity for use in data science.

In Python, arrays map directly to lists. Tables in TOML. A table is a collection of key-value pairs in a TOML file, labeled with a header in square brackets.

Python uses zero-based array indexing. In most languages, Python and C included, the first element of an array is accessed with a zero—e.g., string[0] in Python for the first character in a string.
