Texas' state parks system is about to get a little bigger. The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) has finalized the purchase of 2,020 acres near Colorado Bend State Park in the Texas Hill Country.

The land cost $35 million and was funded via money raised from sporting goods sales tax and a one-time funding appropriation, according to The Dallas Morning News.
