It’s not a secret that KTM is in deep financial trouble. The Austrian motorcycle manufacturer is nearly $3 billion in debt and entered self-administration in late November. KTM is reportedly planning to shut down its entire MotoGP division in 2026.

KTM could be looking to leave MotoGP as early as 2026 as part of their self-administered restructuring process, according to a report at Der Standard, an Austrian-based financial magazine. The departure from motorsports is one of the options under consideration in the effort to reduce the more than $3 billion debt.
