Fran Alonso is out as the head coach of the Houston Dash after more than three months away from the team. The parties agreed to part ways instead of Alonso returning to the team, the Dash announced on Tuesday.

Fran Alonso, hired in February, had been away from team since late June for undisclosed reasons. Ricky Clarke will remain as interim.

Then the news broke that the boss would not travel to that game after being diagnosed with illness and has not returned since.
