Several residents in a San Diego area community are being evacuated as firefighters work to battle a wind-driven brush fire that is threatening homes.

SAN DIEGO — A brush fire was burning near Marine Corps Air Station Miramar Monday afternoon near Kearney Villa Rd and Miramar Rd where smoke could be seen from Interstate 15 and other homes and businesses nearby. CalFire has built a list of things to have ready in case you and your family are evacuated during any wildfire or disaster.

The fire started around 1:17 p.m. in the vicinity of 14322 Pomerado Road, and by 1:45 p.m., it was 2 acres large.
