Third baseman Alex Bregman will hit free agency with a Gold Glove on his résumé. Bregman was named Sunday as the American League winner of the Rawlings Gold Glove Award at third base, which goes to the best defensive player in each league at the position.

HOUSTON — Longtime Astros third baseman and now free agent Alex Bregman has won his first-ever Gold Glove Award, Rawlings announced Sunday night. Bregman becomes the second third baseman in Astros history to win the award joining Doug Rader, who won five Gold Glove Awards from 1970 to 1974.
