All Swedish schools and pre-schools will have to make plans to keep unauthorised people off their premises, the government said on Wednesday, as the country tries to come to terms with the worst school shooting in its history last week.

Sweden’s right-wing government said on Friday it would seek to tighten gun laws in the wake of the country’s deadliest mass shooting at an adult education center where the attacker appeared to have used several of his own licensed rifles.

Members of the public were urged to stay away from the area, or stay inside their homes as the investigation unfolded. The gunman was later found dead. "Sweden has "never seen a school shooting of this magnitude," Justice Minister Gunnar Strommer said, according to the BBC.

Police say around 10 people have died in a shooting at an education campus in the city of Orebro. It is the worst school shooting ever to happen in Sweden, where school violence is rare.
