All domestic and international trains at Gare du Nord, Europe's busiest train station, came to a halt Friday after an unexploded World War II shell was discovered, officials said.

Rail services in and out of Gare du Nord station in Paris were expected to resume on Friday evening after a World War II bomb that had been found on the tracks earlier in the day was finally defused and removed.

Eurostar says its services between London and Paris will remain suspended for the rest of the day. It follows the discovery of an unexploded World War Two bomb near to the Gare du Nord station in Paris. More on this shortly.
