At the NYC Marathon, dozens of local run clubs set up cheer zones along the course, giving every runner a much-needed boost to get to the finish.

As runners gear up for the New York City Marathon, run clubs are growing fast as a way for people and businesses to connect to the community.

Justine Huang of L.A. had a little buzz to get her through her run; the 26-year-old chugged a cup of Prosecco mid-race, provided by a cheer squad who had set up their own “fueling” station alongside the course.
