Select the "Page Layout" tab on the command ribbon. (See References 4) Click or tap to remove the tick from the "View" check box under the Gridlines heading in the Sheet Options group.

Launch the Excel 2010 spreadsheet that holds the scatter plot you want to adjust. Click anywhere on the chart, then click the "Layout" tab that appears at the top of the Excel window.
