The velocity time graphs give all three variables for motion–velocity which can be read off at any time. Area is displacement and gradient is acceleration.
Acceleration (a)- the rate of change of an object’s velocity over time. Displacement (s)- the total distance and the direction the object travels.
Such graphs are known as displacement-time graphs. Sections A and C show travelling away from home. Sections B and D are when the journey has paused for a rest or a wait.
With a fairly large time interval of 0.1 seconds, I still get a displacement fairly close to the analytical solution of 12 meters. Making a smaller time interval will clearly give a better solution.
