An urgent product recall has been announced by Coca-Cola for several of its leading carbonated drinks, including fan favourites Coke, Fanta, and Sprite, due to heightened safety concerns. The UK Food Standards Agency is now probing the matter following reports of excessive chlorate levels found in the beverages.

There has been a “limited distribution to the UK” of Coca-Cola soft drinks containing higher levels of a chemical called chlorate, the Food Standards Agency has said. The statement comes after the Coca-Cola Europacific Partners,

The recall affects cans and glass bottles in the Benelux, Britain, Germany, France. An "excessively high chlorate content" was detected in cans and bottles of Coca-Cola, Sprite, Fanta, Fuze Tea, Minute Maid,
