President Donald Trump has said he wants his new education chief, Linda McMahon, to “put herself out of a job” and close the Education Department.
Donald Trump's pick for US education secretary, former World Wrestling Entertainment CEO Linda McMahon, was confirmed by the Senate Monday.
The Senate confirmed the nomination of the WWE co-founder, who has scant experience in schools, by a vote of 51-45.
Linda McMahon has been confirmed by the United States Senate as Secretary of Education, following her nomination by President Donald Trump. The Senate voted to confirm McMahon with a 51-45 majority, with four senators missing the vote.
