Remains discovered in a shallow grave more than 20 years ago belong to a missing mother of four, the 8 News Now Investigators have learned — now police need help finding her killer.

After more than two decades, a slain woman whose skeletal remains were found in 2001 has been identified by Las Vegas police. Virgia Mae Jackson was named in a Metropolitan Police Department news release on Wednesday.

Las Vegas Metro police identified the female homicide victim as Virgia Mae Jackson, who is believed to have went missing sometime in 1999 or 2000, according to police.

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) - Las Vegas police identified the victim in a 2001 cold case as Virgia Mae Jackson. On Jan. 11, 2001, Metro and Henderson police responded to a report of a human skull located near Pabco and Sunset roads.

Metro Police said they have identified the victim in a 2001 homicide cold case, according to a news release. Virgia Jackson was identified through DNA testing as the deceased woman in a case opened by Henderson Police.
